Project Manager (Part-time Contractor, Remote)

Neuron is a UX/UI design agency headquartered in downtown San Francisco. We are a boutique team of designers and strategists and are looking to expand our existing Project Management capacity. Together, we create engaging digital experiences for a wide range of clients and industries.
 
Notable Clients: IKEA, Google X, Hootsuite, Vivint, Listrak, Flo Health, Paycom, Uniphore.

Summary

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to help us deliver best-in-class design work on time and on budget. Candidates should have 3-5 years of project management experience at a digital design or product agency, strong client-facing communication skills, and the discipline to work remotely.

 

Strong organizational and communication skills are critical. This role sits at the intersection of client relationships and creative delivery; you'll keep projects moving, stakeholders aligned, and our team focused. Since we are a boutique agency, you will have a direct, meaningful impact on every project you touch.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day client communication, keeping all stakeholders informed and aligned.

  • Build and maintain project timelines, budgets, priorities, and documentation.

  • Support scoping and estimation for new and ongoing client work.

  • Coordinate tasks and handoffs across designers and partner vendors.

  • Review deliverables before client handoff to ensure all requirements are met.

  • Identify risks early and resolve or escalate them before they become issues.

  • Organize project files, tasks, and communications across our toolset.

  • Optimize existing workflows and contribute to improving agency processes.

  • Identify issues and potential risks before they escalate.

Prerequisites

  • 3-5 years of digital project management experience in an agency environment.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously without sacrificing quality.

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

  • Strong understanding of the UX/UI design and development process.

  • Highly organized, self-directed, and proactive.

  • Comfortable with tools like Figma, Asana, Claude, and Google Workspace.

Bonus Points

  • Experience managing UX/UI or product design projects specifically.

  • Familiarity with agile or sprint-based workflows.

  • Familiarity with AI tools to assist your processes.

  • Strong note-taking skills.

  • Experience managing 3-4 concurrent client projects.
